Canada: A Nation of Pirates?

Here's an interesting documentary on the new copyright law in Canada. The key argument is that users have discovered that new technology means that old purchases of content become inaccessible if you can't move it from an old format to a new format: LPs to 8 tracks to CDs to DVDs to hard disks. But this law makes it illegal for somebody who has purchased content to have the right to make copies or move content from one format to another. In other words, you don't "own" content, you are basically allowed to "rent" it until the technology changes and you are forced to pay to again rent the same content under the new format. It is a goldmine for large media corporations.
