Commentary

Here is an on-target comment by Wonkette:
Was Barack Obama Too Smart With His ‘Policies’ Last Night?

Since most top-notch political pundits do not understand or value public policy, they simply did not care for Barack Obama’s attempt to explain a very complicated reform effort last night with such grown-up words as “incentivize” and “cost-curve.” Psychotic Harvard fart-talk! This is why they are instead focusing on how reverse-racist it was for Obama to say white police officers acted “stupidly” by arresting that black guy who broke into his own home. But don’t blame the reporters! It was Obama’s decision to be so boring for 50 minutes that made them focus on this exciting 51st minute-adverb that “Real Americans” understand.
Sadly this is the level of civic discourse in America. Obama gives a brilliant off the cuff presentation on health care and it gets swallowed up by a "controversy" over cops arresting a Harvard professor. The couch potatoes maybe couldn't understand the complexities of health care, but they sure could appreciate what they "saw": a President disrespecting hard working cops just doing their duty.

Yep... it's all in a day's work to go grab some sucker out of his own home and haul him off in chains for "burglary". How could the President call this stupid? Isn't this just "good policing"? Wouldn't you want your local cops to barge into your home some night, guns drawn, arresting you for "burglary" of your own home? How could you complain? It's just cops doing their job. They were simply following up a neighbor who either didn't recognize her neighbor or who had a vicious streak and "turned in" her neighbor as a burgler. So of course you go get the miscreant and drag him out of his house in irons. I don't care if he has photo ID that says he is the King of England. So what! A 911 call reported a burglary, so as good cops, we are going to find the first black man we can and put him in chains and drag him off to jail because that's how we get our "percentage solved" statistics up high like they should be!
