Fox News on Global Warming

I generally refuse to watch Fox News as too right wing and ideological. But strangely I find myself aligned with them on "global warming". Here's are clips from a broadcast they did on Dec 20, 2009.

In Part 2 at about 7:40 minutes into the video you see Steve McIntyre say that (a) yes he believes there is global warming but (b) he doesn't know if it is a big problem, medium-sized problem, or a small problem. This is what all the scientists should agree on at this point in time. They just don't know. They can't know given the current state of knowledge.

In part 3 there is a good exposition of the Hadley CRU e-mails that reveal the fraudulent "science" of the global warming climatologists.

In part 4 there is a discussion of cost-benefit analysis about "stopping global warming" with the economist Bjorn Lomberg.

In parts 5 & 6 Fox goes off the rails with its usual right wing spin. Here is where I part company with Fox. I side with Steve McIntyre in saying that global warming may be a problem. I'm willing to spend lots of money to do science and technological development to deal with the potential problem. I'm willing to accept modest carbon taxes and a modest start on cap & trade as a precaution. Fox is simply right wing craziness in simply saying "no". That isn't an answer. The answer is to understand the potential problem and take tentative steps to mitigate. In short, you have to avoid the fanatics on the right and the left.
