Sizing Up Medical Care

This graphic is quite interesting.

Canada puts in a good showing, but it does point out that while costs are low and outcomes are good, there are some bad aspects of healthcare in Canada: quality is low, effectiveness is low, and efficiency is low. Funny. Despite what on the surface sound like real showstoppers, Canada delivers an admirable result: second best health care in the world.

The US has some real problems: high costs, poor longevity and medical outcomes, poor equity, poor efficiency, and a poor safety record.
